CO$T Advisory Group
Advisory Group members provide important assistance to CO$T on specific projects or activities. Advisory members’ expertise and experience allow them to make valuable contributions.
Larry Anderson’s lifelong interest in economics underpin his contributions to CO$T. A former Mill Valley school board member, Larry contributes valuable perspective on the challenges facing our schools and a passion for working toward cooperative solutions.
Tamara Hull. Tamara Hull is a CPA with a passion for, and extensive expertise with, nonprofits and local politics. She serves on the boards of several nonprofits and has helped many nonprofits with their formation process and the required reporting and governance. For everyone else, she is always looking for ways to reduce the tax burden.
John Parulis is a licensed contractor in the states of California and Oregon. He’s also a consultant with the California State Contractors License Board, a past director of Marin Cove Homeowners Association and a long time community and environmental activist, with web, web media and graphic design experience. John is CO$T’s webmaster. John also heads brightpathvideo.com which regularly live streams pay per view sports events from San Francisco.
Linda Pfeifer is a former two-term Sausalito City Councilmember (2008-2016), Arts Commissioner, and Sausalito Chamber of Commerce Board Member. She advocates for transparency, pension reform, local control, and preservation. Pfeifer has a Doctor of Education from the University of San Francisco, is a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, and serves as Secretary for the nonprofit, Open Space Sausalito.
Charles (Chuck) Reite of Tiburon brings to CO$T an extensive legal background spanning 45 years, including 25 years as a trial attorney and mediator as well as a Military Trial Judge and U.S. Administrative Law Judge. Chuck served the Navy for 36 years as a Flight Officer and reserve JAG (Judge Advocate General legal corps).
John (Hutch) Turner is the driving force behind Novato.Exposed, an online forum focusing on issues, politics, and opinion in that community. Hutch owns a small firm specializing in the chemical/biomolecular engineering field. His involvement in Novato civic affairs includes Neighbors for Novato and regular blog posts that provide perspective to CO$T’s activities.
Bruce Vogen, spent his career working in and around the magazine, catalog, and direct mail publishing industries both in sales and project management. After leaving the workforce, Bruce dedicated his time to understanding how representative democracy works at the local level. This “walkabout” ultimately led to his serving as an alternate on the 2018 Marin County Civil Grand Jury, where he saw first-hand how critical transparency and accountability are to protecting the public’s interest. Bruce spent the better part of four years researching telecommunications (internet) policy in Marin and shares his knowledge with government agencies and members of the public as often as he can. Bruce has sold and used complex publishing production software, helped his company develop its first order management system, and has a working knowledge of the types of Customer Relationship Management software used by non-profit organizations.
